Italian 6 course (A1++ → A2-)
Level: Intermediate (A2/B1)
Do you already have basic knowledge of Italian? But would you like to learn more? In Italian level 6, you work towards language level A2-.

About Italian 6
The course is suitable if you have completed the Italian level 5 course or if you have A1+ level in another way. For example through successful completion of the teaching method Allegro 2 or the teaching method Con Piacere 2 (up to chapter 5). Not sure what your language level is? In this course, you practise reading longer articles and looking up specific information in written texts. In the area of speaking and writing skills, you will work on difficult sentence structures such as formulating a sentence with past tense indications. You learn to make small nuances by correctly applying the past imperfect or past perfect tense. You will also become familiar with, for example, the conjunction “mentre” and other time indications.
Enrolling in an Italian course? Then you get a free membership of the cultural association Dante Alighieri in Utrecht! This way, you can participate in cultural events and lectures throughout the year.
Learning goals
In this level 6 course, you will work towards language level A2-.
After completing this course you will:
- be able to hold simple conversations in Italian fluently.
- understand the main ideas of long Italian articles.
- be optimally prepared to live and work in beautiful Italy.
- be ready for the Italian level 7 course.
Method
- During the meetings, you practice the grammar lessons from the book under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
- For many assignments, you work in pairs, giving feedback on each other’s work. This is not only instructive for the other person, but also for yourself.
Time investment
- Italian 6 consists of 9 sessions of 1,5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
- To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours per week on study and the completion of materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the classes.
Practical
- The teacher will speak Italian as much as possible. Participants can ask questions in Italian or in Dutch.
- You can order the necessary books for this course via our website’s Order Books page. You should make sure to have the book before the start of the first lesson.
- You will receive a certificate if you attend at least 8 of the 9 classes.
