About French 2

In the French level 2 course, you will challenge yourself further and develop even more in terms of French language and culture. Through conversation, vocabulary and grammar, you will improve your language skills and become more confident when speaking with native French speakers.

  • The main aim of the course is for you to improve your receptive language skills. This means that you will be able to understand French speakers better and read simple French texts more easily. You will also be able to answer questions in French about the content of these texts.
  • In addition, the emphasis is on improving your speaking skills and pronunciation. You practise in pairs and receive feedback from an experienced teacher.
  • In addition, the teacher regularly schedules time for interactive lessons. These include listening to and analysing well-known chansons or discussing current developments.

This course follows on French level 1, but can also be taken separately if you have A1- level. Not sure what your language level is? Then take our free placement test.

Method

Each lesson starts with a brief review of the lesson content from the previous meeting. There is also an opportunity to ask questions about the homework.

  • Using audio recordings, you will work on listening exercises and learn to understand native French speakers. An important part of the meetings is practicing conversations.
  • The teaching method we use in this course is Edito. This method has been specially developed to help adult language learners learn French quickly and effectively. Each chapter contains audio fragments, reading texts, speaking & pronunciation exercises and grammar. It is important that you have the book with you from the first meeting.
  • A large part of the book will be covered during the course. You can also use the book very well as a reference work. It also contains the transcripts and an answer model.
