About French 1

In the French level 1 course, you learn how to make yourself understood in everyday situations. You also practise a lot with listening texts so that you not only ask questions, but can actually do something with the answers.

  • When it comes to grammar, you learn important grammar rules and apply them immediately in various writing and speaking exercises. For example, you will learn how to conjugate common verbs, how to form an interrogative or negative sentence and how to use possessive pronouns correctly.
  • You expand your vocabulary and practise formulating simple sentences. Of course, you will also work on your French pronunciation so that you can immediately put the language course content into practice.
  • In addition to the teaching method used, the teacher will also talk about the French language and culture based on his or her own knowledge and experience. You will learn about customs, habits and developments in France, so that the French language really comes alive for you.

You can take this course if you have taken two years of French lessons at secondary school or have learned French for 20 hours.  Not sure what your language level is? Then take our free placement test.

  • The teaching method we use in this course is Edito. This method has been specially developed to help adult language learners learn French quickly and effectively. Each chapter contains audio fragments, reading texts, speaking & pronunciation exercises and grammar. It is important that you have the book with you from the first meeting.
  • A large part of the book will be covered during the course. You can also use the book very well as a reference work. It also contains the transcripts and an answer model.
